Michael R. Oswald, M.D.
Dr. Oswald was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He attended college at LSU in Baton Rouge and graduated from the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans in 1995. He met his wife, Laila during medical school and upon graduation, they moved to Baltimore, Maryland where he completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Sinai Hospital. Both he and his wife had spent time in the Waynesville area as children and they decided to make the move here in 2001 at which time Dr. Oswald joined Mountain Eye Associates.

The Oswald’s have four children. Dr. Oswald enjoys spending his free time with his family. He also enjoys outdoors activities, going to the movies and working on their small farm where they raise fainting goats, and Great Pyrenees dogs. He is also active in the community and has been a member of the Waynesville Rotary since coming to Haywood County.
