Mountain Eye Associates contributes throughout the year to many charitable organizations and fundraisers in Haywood and surrounding counties.

For the size of our office we are a leader in contributions to The United Way.

Our doctors and staff volunteer their time to work various health fairs.

Every year Dr. Markoff donates his time and surgical skills to travel to an underdeveloped country where people are in need of eye care and eye surgery.

Two of our staff members, Sarah Shuford and Cathy Berlin, are dedicated to leading our hard working staff in fund raising efforts for Relay for Life each year.  This year was the best ever! Our practice raised over $5,000 and we placed #4 out of 42 teams.

The staff sells cookbooks during the year and proceeds are used to provide Christmas gifts to residents of nursing homes who do not have family or have family living nearby.
